Officially 24. God, this is getting weird. Where did the year go?
csi_sanders1129: (boy love)
Today's my 23rd Birthday! Still weird, feel like we just did this.

This was also the first year without my Grandmom, whose 85th Birthday would have been the 27th. That's... really different. Our Birthday's have always kinda been celebrated together. So, Happy Birthday, Grandmom. I love you. <3

Officially 22! This is so weird, didn't I just turn 21?

csi_sanders1129: (concert)
So... First of all, Happy 19th Birthday to my brother, Zach. Who does not have a facebook, twitter or an active LJ account. So I'm really saying happy birthday on here for no reason.

Anyway. Concert post. This is one. First one this year.

Dad and I left at like 4:15, stopped for a quick dinner and made it into Baltimore by 5:15. Pretty good time considering we got into the city just as the Oriole's game was ending. We had a Meet and Greet so we stood outside until 6:30 chatting with people in line with us (and laughing hysterically because the instructions we got said to be there by 5:40 or else we'd be late - and because we were slowly being cooked in the 90some degree sun).

Finally, at 6:30, they let us back. Had a rapid fire, picture taking thing with Colbie Caillat. Headed into the Pavilion in desperate need of water and shade. Chilled until 7 when Andy Grammer started.

He played: Pocket, Ladies, Slow, a cover of We Are Young (by FUN) mashed with his song Keep Your Head Up, Lunatic, Miss Me, Biggest Man In Los Angeles, and Fine By Me. The only song I knew was Fine By Me (and the FUN song, but that isn't really his...) but he was awesome.

Gavin DeGraw came on at like 8. He was really epic. Opened with Sweeter. Into In Love With The Girl, Crush, Soldier, Never The Same (I think? Not sure...), Candy, Follow Through (Acoustic), Stealing, I Need A Dollar (cover of something)/Chemical Party, Run Every Time, Chariot. Encored with Radiation and Not Over You. After his set, he was out signing by the merch stand. Stood out there for a while, but didn't quite make it to the front of the line. He stopped when Colbie Caillat started, but said he'd be out again later.

Colbie played: Fallin', The Little Things, Begin Again, Realize, I Do, Make It Rain, I Never Told You, What If, Lucky, Oxygen, and Favorite Song, didn't leave for their encore and played I Won't instead. Then finished with Brighter Than The Sun and Bubbly.

Took a lot of pictures, between Dad and I. I think I won this round of 'Who Takes Better Pictures?' but mostly cause Dad's camera was being wonky. We found out our Security Guard friend quit, which *sadface* but we did get to meet Gavin DeGraw on our way out. Convinced we weren't, given the swarming horde of people, but we did. Got tickets signed and a picture with him.

All in all, a good night.

So, yesterday was awesome. technically, the awesomeness started after class on Monday. Ended up having a 5 hour conversation with my roommate and his friend about various television shows/movies, mostly about Supernatural, which I was super excited about because none of my friends out here care about it at all. So, that was a blast. Stopped around 1 am, chilled on the net until 2, crashed.

Woke up and headed to Psych - that was seriously the only low point in my day since it was pouring down rain and I'm wearing a stupid boot brace on my foot for a sprained ankle (I totally fail at walking, apparently!) so that was annoyingly damp. Met up with usual friends for lunch, which was fun and entertaining - one of my friends was going out on a date tonight with a guy we've been trying to set her up with for a while now, so that was cool - went to Gilded Age, got an A on the paper I entirely bullshitted before break (114/125 is the lowest score I've gotten on a paper for that class so far but I so don't care, because it's still an A), and then went back for more chatting.

Got back home around 4, and like 30 minutes later my roommate barged into my room with a chocolate cake and a copy of Storm of Swords for me, which was awesome. I love my roommates. All of them. So so so so much better than last year. We made plans to go out to dinner with some other friends - decided on Ruby Tuesday because it was one of like 3 options - and waited for them to come fetch us because they have a car and we do not. Ended up not going until like 7:30 and the roommate and I ended up watching a couple episodes of Queer As Folk just because we could. We watched the UK version pilot and then felt the need to watch the US version because for once the US version seemed exponentially better.

Dinner was awesome. Mm, steak. Ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri, which may have been overkill because I've been taking a bunch of cough drops to stave off the annoying ass cold my roommates thrust upon me within like 45 minutes of interaction on Sunday. Manages to avoid drawing the attention of the staff, but the three of them all randomly burst out into Happy Birthday despite my vehement protests and slightly murderous threats. Despite seeing my ID, our waitress was apparently surprised by this. Which I am totally okay with.

From there, we stopped by the liquor store - not a first - and stocked up for the night. I settled on wine as I was not in a White Russian or hard cider mood, and we stopped to grab shisha for the hookah. Made one last stop by the house to grab the cake and stuff for snackage and headed to our friend's house to enjoy the night.

This was somewhat delayed as part 1 of the Sons of Anarchy season finale was on, and most of the people I was with are obsessed with it, so we watched that. The roommate's boyfriend and the friend's on the date came over too (success!) and we had fun. There was a lot of bitching about Capstone courses because the professor remains a giant, unhelpful idiot, but this was unsurprising. Smoked hookah, had jalapeno dip (with candles and more singing), had cake (also with candles and singing), finished the bottle of wine, chilled for a bit longer and just got back around 2am.

By far, one of the best birthday's I've had. I love my friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

...(w/ an adorable puppy :D )

Also, I get to go home next Thursday for Spring Break (until the 27th, yay!), which seems so far away when I remember that there are 3 tests to take and 2 books to read between now and then. Hnng. Also, the fic I'm working on needs to end and it's kind of refusing to - it's at like 11,000 words and I still have another part to write and some more editing. Please make it stop?

Okay, I have never been quite this busy only two days into school. I'm just shy of halfway through Uncle Tom's Cabin, which has to be done by Monday, I have to read Utopia before Friday. I have a couple chapters from a textbook to read and a few handouts, and then 3 writing assignments. It doesn't seem like much, but it's just taking forever to get through for some reason and I don't feel like I've actually accomplished much of anything since I started doing homework 8 hours ago.

My other two classes are pretty cool, by the way. Ancient Greece & Rome is definitely cooler than Renaissance & Reformation, but I kind of expected that. The prof is cool, if kind of goofy. Granted, all I did was listen to the same lecture twice over since he teaches both of the classes I had today. At least like 5 people from History Club are in each of the three History classes. Which is awesomely cool.

Also, a happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] paytofay!!! <3

1. I've been at home since roughly 1am on Friday night and I get to be home until sometime on Sunday! I missed my shower, and my dogs, and Starbucks, and my family, and work. Hnng.

2. Since being home I've been on the roof cleaning out rain gutters and putting up the lights, had all the delicious food/coffee drinks that Frostburg sadly lacks, got to see Awesome!Prof when I was waiting for Zach to get out of class on Tuesday, got to play frisbee with the canines, got to work (which, getting paid, yay!), watched Zach play Fallout: New Vegas, and played the new Sims 3 EP. And Saturday we're doing Birthday stuff (Read" Red Robin and Ice cream cake, yum :) )

3. Happy slightly belated birthday to the always awesome [livejournal.com profile] cynic_fic !!! <3

4. I've given up on NaNoWriMo for the year. I just don't care. I have too muhc other stuff to do. I do have to do my Yuletide project at some point. O.o And a couple requests from like... last month. Oops.

5. Meme! Ganked form [livejournal.com profile] queenitsy . Name a character/real person from one of my fandoms/shows/anything and I'll give you:

(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is amazing
(d) five things that I'd like to see happen to them
(e) five people that I can't ship that character with and why
