Word Count: ~225
Pairings/Characters: Jason. Spinelli. Sonny.
Synopsis: Jason decides that he doesn't want his relationship with Sonny to repeat with Spinelli.
Comments: Random thing I wrote in like... 5 minutes. Not mine. Enjoy! Kinda goes along with some of the things brough up in last weeks episodes, with Spinelli babbling and all.
He knows Spinelli’s right. He knows Sonny, probably better than anyone. He’s been able to control Sonny when no one else could, but this… losing Michael pushed Sonny out of his control.
And he knows someday, probably soon, Sonny will decide that he wants his power back. Jason won’t give it to him, though. If for nothing else than to protect Morgan from enduring what Michael currently is.
Sonny will fight back. And one of them won’t make it out of that battle alive.
Spinelli called it. Exactly.
He knows Spinelli cares about him. In fact, he suspects Spinelli’s unfounded hero worship of him is probably not that far off from his own when he’d first met Sonny. That thought kind of scares him, though, because if they end up in this same cat and mouse thing he and Sonny have going on, he doesn’t think Spinelli will make it through.
Spinelli’s already showing signs. He has the ability to calm Jason down when no one else can. He defends his master when others question their friendship. Jason’s connections to mob life have already cost Spinelli dearly. And, much like Sonny fought to get rid of him years ago, Spinelli refuses to leave Jason, as well.
Sitting guard beside Spinelli, lying unconscious in a hospital bed, he decides. He won’t let the same thing happen to him.
