Ummm.... yes. So, [livejournal.com profile] xidiomaticlogic got me obsessed with a movie that has been sitting around my house unopened since like... 2005. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and I don't mean the CSI or Torchwood episodes. Well, as I said - obsessed. One of my favorite movies!!! It's hilarious and slashy and just, yeah. Do yourself a favor - see it!

And, if you need further convincing --

Enjoy!

KMKMLM - be warned, one way or another, I'll get you to watch it!

This is my Dad's system. There is no evident order at all. And that's not even all of them. xD We could run like a Netflix out of our house.

Haha, stealth slash - that wins. xDDD It's kinda like the regular buddy movie - with a better twist.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! I do like buddy films, right up until the point where the guy gets the girl and the buddy becomes a third wheel. T_T The last two or three minutes of KKBB was me going "WHAT. WHAT. WHAT. YES. WHAT. YES. =D"

Though, I once watched a chinese buddy movie where I felt it was done right, although the buddy is dead for most of it and there was like time travel and shit... but the main character's mission was to bring him back, and when the female sidekick threw a hissy fit at some point, he basically told her "I like you, but fuck you miss, this is about my friend, not you."

Argh, I hate that in buddy movies. Ever seen Dead Man on Campus? The female love interest has like 5 lines, is a total moron and is not relevant to the plot at all - but the last seen is the two guys in bed together after one has a nightmare. You can pretty much ignore her and be totally fine. And the book version is even slashier.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, no, I'd never gotten around to seeing that. >_> I think I shall read the book first and then feel snotty and superior. =D

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, it's plotline is pretty much standard college 'hey lets get drunk and high and have sex and not go to class!' but it picks up after a bit. ^^;;

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
-nod- I tend to have little patience with 'lolcollege' stories, but hey, slash. XD

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, one of the two guys is interested in his grades for the majority of the movie at least, so its not so bad. The trailer is rather deceptive, though, if you look that up.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Hah, I hate that, where trailers have *nothing* to do with the actual movie and everything to do with what will reel people in. =P

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah. Like KKBB's focuses way too much on the whole crook-actor thing.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-16 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. XD Funny as the set-up is, it's basically just an excuse to get the boys together.

Ohhh, and I just found out that the friend who claimed to have seen this actually saw A DIFFERENT MOVIE BY THE SAME NAME. Someone else I can tie down and make watch it. -cackle-

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exactly. That part takes up what? Like 3.5 minutes of the amsusing narrator part?

Haha, I have to get her *person in post below* to watch it.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's pretty much just a short prologue to the shenanigans.

Yes you do. Never give up, never surrender! XD

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exactly.

And, I have no plans to get up, my attempts usually work eventually. Cause she'll forget and agree to come over and then she'll kidnap my laptop and I'll stick a move in. ^____^ *evil grin*

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I aslo just realied that at the beginning Harry says that he and Harmony don't work out - the whole 'it doesn't last ling...' thing. xD Which just makes it slashier, you know, knoowing that he's not getting the girl.

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Just more kindling for the fire of "yeah that's right Harry and Perry are totally together by the end". And you know what? While my inner slasher loves the hell out of that, I also appreciate it as a beautiful subversion of the genre stereotypes.

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, not to mention it's like 6 different genres to begin with. Comedy, Action, Mystery, Drama, Romance, Thriller...

[identity profile] xidiomaticlogic.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
And it affectionately puts its thumbs in its ears and blows a raspberry at *every one of them*.

[identity profile] csi-sanders1129.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yes. Lmao. my dad walked in when it was at the big shoot out at the end and he's like 'O.o this is a comedy?'

And I think we need to go back and start commenting on an older comment or something. We're down to one word lines here. xD
