So, we left as soon as Dad got home and changed and stuff. Were on the road by like 3:40 or so. Made it to D.C. by... 5 maybe? Despite a detour because they changed a road or something that threw both Dad and the GPS off. I read the Star Trek'09 novel most of the way down (71/274). Then spent 30 minutes trying to find a garage cause the one we found when we were there for the Eagles concert in Nov was for 'season ticket holders' now or some other bullshit. Found a garage that put us right on the street we'd need to be on when we got out instead. Hung around til 6:30 when the doors opened. Then spent 30 minutes in line for a t-shirt. Got down to the seats (Row N on the floor) around 7ish. Chilled. The people next to me like... follow his tour. They were from Dallas - long long way away from DC. We talked for a bit.
Sugarland started at 7:30, right on time. They played -
Love, Settlin', It Happens, Baby Girl, Want To, Nightswimming/Joey, Already Gone, Genevieve, All I Wanna Do, Everyday America. Then they did a bunch of random bits of random songs. Then into Who Says You Can't Go Home, Something More, and finally, Walkin' On Sunshine. I was rather hoping for Come On Get Higher, but alas, they didn't play that. They finished around 8:40 or so.
Keith Urban came on at 9. He played -
Hit The Ground Runnin', Days Go By, Stupid Boy, Where The Blacktop Ends, and Better Half. Then he ran through teh crowd back to the stage set up on the other side of the Verizon Center and song three songs there - Once In A Lifetime Love, Memories of Us, and Only You Can Love Me This Way. Then he came back up front and went into Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me, Sweet Thing, Til Summer Comes Around, and Rainin' On Sunday(♥). Then he intro'd his band, most of which could all sing for themselves. One of his guys did a really good job covering a bit of a Journey song - Open Arms. He picked it back up with Kiss A Girl, I Told You So, You'll Think Of Me, and then he wandered into an upper part of teh crowd for part of You Look Good In My Shirt(♥). Encore'd with Tonight I'm Gonna Cry and Better Life. Ended at 11.
Got out of the building and the parking garage quickly. On the road again by 11:20 or so, I suppose. Home by 12:30.
Pics when I feel like it. :3
Next concert is Saturday - Blue October/Switchfoot/Ours. Can't wait. After that I'm leaving for OC for a couple of days with JL and Co.
