Mat Kearney concert was tonight. It was epic.

Dad and I left at like... 5, like we did on Friday. Stopped for dinner, got there at like... 5:40. AND WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN LINE. O_O The line never really did actually get long, and at 7 the doors opened. We were the first ones in and I wa steh first oen to get to the rail. Justs a little bit off center to avoid pics with the mic stand in the way. We had time to kill until 8 when the opener started - some girl named Diane Birch who I didn't care about then and still don't care about now.

She started at 8 and played til 8:45. No idea what she played, and again - don't care. I spent those 45 minutes plotting and trying to not let the trumpet player break my eardrums (which, btw, I finally got some meds for this stupid cold! Without havign to actually go to the doctor :D) But, yeah.

Mat Kearney came on at like... 9:15ish. He played: All I Have, Fire & Rain, Crashing Down, Breathe In Breathe Out, In The Middle, Lifeline, Girl America, Renaissance*, Annie, Here We Go, Runway Car**, All I Need, Undeniable, and Nothing Left To Lose. Encired with: City of Black & White, Closer To Love and Dancing IN The Dark (Springsteen cover).

* - When this song first started, he stood in front of me and started shaking hands with people. I was first. And yes, I might have been squeeing as much as my lost voice would allow.

** - He got brave. He leaned out on the left side to sign something for a little kid up on his Dad's shoulders. Twas cute. Then he came over to out side and leaned out... like 2 people away from me. He grabbed someone's hand and ended up standing on teh really unstable rail for a good minute while he sang. He was pretty shaky for a bit, but he survived.

We thought we were in trouble for a while there, though. As in the 'drunk people find us' kind of trouble. These for people came up - 2 married couples. One set was nice and the other was, well, on their way to trashed already. The woman in the nice group was like 'I apologize in advance, I can't take these idiots anywhere.' And I was okay with that - they weren't doing anything yet other than talking - which, whatever, hadn't started yet. Turns out, they were all really nice. Even the totally drunk ones. The drunk!guy was kind of behind me - he was like, I swear 7 feet tall - and if he even bumped me he apologized - a bit too often, actually. But, I can't complain about that. I talked to the sober!girl and I talked about my tattoos for a bit and such. And we teased drunk!guy about thinking lights on stage were drums. I bumped into drunk!guy on teh way out and he was like 'Oh, Sorr- Gahahaha, you again! xD' Twas amusing. And, when the show ended, and Dad and I hung aroudn to ask for a setlist, Sober!guy got the guy on stage's attention and got one and gave it to me while his wife got one for them. :3 So nice. :D

But, yeah. Upon getting said setlist, Dad and I hurried outside to see if Mat Kearney would be outside signing. We waited a few minutes. I knew we couldn't stay long cause Dad has work in teh am and I have school. After a few mins, Dad walked around front to see if he'd stayed inside to sign - and then he called me and told me to come around. I warp speeded it back to the front and got my picture taken and the setlist signed (this is also where I bumped into drunk!guy again).

But, all in all, simply amazing concert! <3 One of the best.
