Dad and I left for downtown at like 3:45 or so. Stopped for dinner and still made it there before 4:45. So we sat in the car until 5:30 until the gates opened. I read on my nook, Dad slept. Very productive.

Our seats were supposed to be in the 2nd row, but when we picked them up from Will Call, they showed the first row. We... did not complain. And someone was sitting in one of the seats we were supposed to have, so we think we just got upgraded or something for some reason? I don't know. We had an hour and half to kill before the first band started, so I kept reading (Phantom Stallion: Red Feather Filly = Done.) and Dad played with his phone.

7 o'clock the first band, The Spill Canvas, came on. I'd heard a couple of their songs, but they didn't play either of the ones I knew. Ended up getting a guitar pic and a setlist. They played: Staplegunned, Gateway Drug, Hush Hush, Dust Storm, Battles, Polygraph Right Now!, All Over You, and Our Song. They said they'd be signing, so I got the setlist autographed by all 4 guys. Awesome: 1/1.

I guess it was like 7:45 or so when Switchfoot came out. I saw them last August with Blue October and the elad singer guy (Jon) was like really hyper and all over the place. This trend continued. The second he got on stage, he jumpe doff and ran around in the audience. He sang Dare You To Move and Needle & Haystack Life while moving around behind us. After that, though, he stuck to bouncing around on stage. They did Mess Of Me, then a Tom Petty cover - I Won't Back Down, then This Is Your Life, Free, Your Love Is A Song, Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues), and then they ended with Meant To Live. Which was awesome. I also got their setlist, and they were also signing. I barely made it at the line cut-off, they were all just kind of hurrying down the line of people cause they had to be done before Goo Goo Dolls started. But, I got the setlist signed. Awesome: 2/2.

Goo Goo Dolls started at 9. Which was when the drunk people found us. I swear there is like a magnet attached to me and Dad. Or a sign. A big, flashing, neon sign that says 'Are you intoxicated? Well, you've come to the right place!' or some shit like that. Ugh. They were, however, tolerable. At least the ones on my side. The ones by Dad he kind of wanted to punch in the face. On the plus side, Security was completely epic at keeping people from swarming the stage. They played: Sweetest Lies, Big Machine, Slide(<3), Dizzy, Here Is Gone, Second Time, Smash, Can't Let It Go, Black Balloon, Home, Better Days, Stay With You, Now I Hear, Tucked Away, Name(<3), Let Love In(<3), As I Am, All Eyes On Me, Acoustic #3, and Iris(<3). Then they encored with a new song (they played a few) - Not Broken, and the finished up with Broadway. And, guess what? I got the setlist. Awesome: 3/3.

So, yeah. Good night, overall.
