So, first day of classes is done. I only had 2 today, which is nice. I have 2 tomorrow, too. And then just 1 on Wednesday. 2 on Thurs, and 1 on Friday and then (assuming the weather decides to be nice and not evil), I'm going home for a concert on Saturday.
As for today's classes, first was Early Modern Lit (Renaissance Era, essentially) and it's not that scary. Definitely less intimidating that Revolutionary Era last semester. Granted the Prof is less awesome when compared with the Professor from Revolution Era.
The other class, Civil War & Reconstruction, is significantly more awesome. The professor who teaches it taught the Awesome!Prof back when he went here - the same class, at that - and that should give you an idea of how long he's been teaching. But, in comparison to the guy who NEEDED to retire after teaching for 40+ years from last semester who fucked up my straight-A streak, I'm sad just knowing that this is this Professor's last semester. I'm pretty sure Awesome!Prof inherited a lot of his teaching style (and his sense of humor/lecturing skills) from this guy. I do, however, have to read a 500 page novel (Uncle Tom's Cabin) before next Monday. Which is totally doable, but I am clearly not going to get to read the other two Bay City Paranormal Investigation books for a while and that makes me sad.
Also, it snowed today. Glad to see Frostburg isn't disappointing. And it wasn't even terribly cold out today. :3

Date: 2011-01-25 02:45 am (UTC)Yeah, you shouldn't go to school here if you don't like snow. From Decemeber 1st - 17th when I went home for Winter Break, it snowed 12 out of those days. It will snow in Frostburg (which is not named for the weather, shock) even when it is not forecasted to snow anywhere else. As for the dorm room, take solace in the fact that my roommate is just stunningly annoying and if I didn't have headphones I would likely not have survived last semester? Other than that, it's fun.

Date: 2011-01-25 02:54 am (UTC)I hate snow so much. But, I'm from California, so I don't really have to deal with it at all.
I'm so glad I don't live in the dorms and I can just yell at my roommate (who, incidentally, is my older sister) if she gets annoying. Plus, we have a cat! =D

Date: 2011-01-25 02:58 am (UTC)That's cool, living with your older sister, I mean, and the getting to yell at her part. My roommate doesn't know I have a twitter, so like 90% of my posts while I'm here are me yelling at her on there. Also, having a pet would be awesome (I like cats, but cats don't like me (even though I have one) - allergies - so I'd probably go with a canine if we could have pets on campus. Sadly all we're allowed to have are fish. :( )

Date: 2011-01-25 03:03 am (UTC)It's always nice to be able to bitch about someone behind their back. Total release valve! Ranting is epic! =D
So what are you thinking of doing with a history degree, anyway?

Date: 2011-01-25 03:06 am (UTC)Indeed. Normally I wouldn't like talking about someone behind their back but posting things like 'Dear roommate, please take your phone off speaker so I don't have to hear molest your boyfriend via phonesex' keeps me from going insane. :)
And I have absolutely no idea. Museum or research stuff, maybe? I don't think I'd be a good teacher (and that's a whole other set of classes, too) but who knows?
