Today was NKOTBSB concert number 2. Normally, we wouldn’t do two shows in one tour, but this one in DC went on sale first, and we got Meet&Greet for it, and then like 2 months later they added the Baltimore show from last Sunday and we decided to go to both.

We have Safetysuit/The Script on Sunday, which is also in DC, and originally we were supposed to go to the big Kenny Chesney concert (also in DC) tomorrow, but I don’t know what we were thinking with that nonsense. 3 days in a row, and tomorrow we wouldn’t have had seats because we would have been in the pit so I’m kind of glad we sold those a while back. It would have been torturous.

Anyway, today was cool, despite the spectacular disorganization of the people in charge of the Meet&Greet. We got there around 3:30 or so (at 3:13, while we were fighting DC traffic, we got an email from the guys in charge of it, saying that we should be there no later than 3:30 – this was the first communication we’d gotten from them. Even if you lived in DC, can you actually get anywhere in 17 minutes? Jeez.) but we did nothing until like 4:45, so yeah. The people there for NKOTB got in way earlier than us, so I guess maybe that played some part in why we were out so long. They signed us all in and gave us VIP lanyard things and divided us into groups (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze) – we were in Silver.

We got to go in for a Soundcheck Party which consisted of 3 songs – Drowning, Siberia (which Nick played drums for), and Incomplete. Siberia was awesome. The other two they play during their set, so I would’ve rather have had different songs. Also, Brian is a total goof and Nick seems to enjoy hanging all over AJ, Howie seems kind of boring, and AJ enjoys making up sentences for NKOTBSB like 'No Kites ON The Borders... something something' and Brian commented on the 'New Kids On The Backstreet Boys,' joke someone made with 'I know! They're really heavy!' or something like that. Then they did a Q&A thing, if you can call 4 questions a Q&A. Someone asked about touring, someone else about how they pick the songs for the set, asked Nick about what Aaron Carter is doing (which was a little OT), and what songs they liked performing the best. After that, and after Brian finished tweeting they lined up behind the metal rail and sent us past in groups. Got to shake hands and talk for a few seconds and then got a group picture (me, dad, and like 3 or 4 other people with the guys behind us). Once we were done, they kicked us all back outside (which was stupid, with 20 minutes before the doors opened. They could have just told us to stay in the lobby or whatever, but no. Dad and I walked to McDonalds to grab some food and we were also dying of thirst. Took forever to get back into the place and to our seats (we were along the catwalk this time, which was awesome, got some crazy good pics). Chilled til 8:00.

The annoyingly under-dressed girls were there again, Ashlyne Huff. She played exactly the same stuff she played last time, but this time I spent her set trying (and almost almost almost beating) the level of Bubble Buster I’ve been stuck on for months on my phone).

Jordin Sparks was there, again, too, and played the same stuff as last week. Got some good pics, though.

8:50, and NKOTBSB came out. They played pretty much exactly what they did on Sunday, with a few minor changes. BSB said they were going to change up some of their set (they said they’re gonna start playing Get Down during the show, but that obviously was not starting tonight even though that would have been awesomely awesome). Anyway… set.

NKOTBSB mash-up of Single and The One was first again. Then NKOTB did Summertime, BSB did The Call. NKOTB did Dirty Dancing, BSB did Bye Bye Love. NKOTB did The Right Stuff and then they did Larger Than Life together with BSB. Blow Your Mind, Valentine Girl, If You Go Away, and Please Don't Go Girl were all NKOTB. BSB did Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely, 10,000 Promises, I'll Never Break Your Heart – this time they each brought a girl up on stage to sing to (Nick and Brian both brought up little girls which resulted in adorableness) unlike last time, when they only brought up one girl and all sang to her - Drowning, and Incomplete. NKOTB switched out to do Step By Step, shortened versions of Cover Girl, My Favorite Girl, Games, Click Click Click, and then they all ran around the audience for Tonight. Donnie Wahlberg was close by again. Backstreet Boys did Shape Of My Heart and ran around the crowd up on the first level, then As Long As You Love Me, All I Have To Give, If You Stay, and Quit Playing Games With My Heart mashed with a Prince song that I don't know the name of. New Kids On The Block did I'll Be Loving You Forever (which again provided fuckign amazing picture taking opportunities). BSB came out for I Want It That Way and NKOTB did Don't Turn Out The Lights. Encore was, again, BSB doing Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and NKOTB doing Hangin' Tough mashed with We Will Rock You. They ended together, as NKOTBSB, with a mashed-up version of Everybody and Hangin' Tough again. Over at 11, but we had to take Dad's co-worker and her friend home, too, so despite the awesomely hilarious car ride, we didn't get home until 1:30.

They continued to use mass amounts of confetti, and pyrotechnics and fireworks. Also, they have a shit-ton of costume changes. Seriously, I feel sorry for whoever has to wash all that stuff. Plus, Donnie Wahlberg apparently rips his shirt off (and I do literally mean rips) so that has to be annoying. Almost caught it – if he’d thrown it on our side of the catwalk, I would have anyway. Although I don’t really know why I would exactly want a sweaty, ripped tank top? Whatever.

Anyway.

That’s all. Might post some really awesome pics at some point.

...I need to make a concert-y icon.
