1. X-Men: First Class. I am kind of late to this party, but that movie was fucking awesome. Mahor thanks to [livejournal.com profile] paytofay for telling me to see it. Also, seeing movies with fellow slashers makes them infinitely more awesome because at least I know I am not imagining that awesomeness happening on the screen.

On that note - Alex (Havok) and Darwin = Yes. And killing Darwin was entirely unnecessary. I refuse to believe that he did not eventually re-materialize himself or something. If you adapt to survive, you adapt to survive that attack. The end.

Also, Charles/Erik. I went in not knowing that Magneto went darkside, so I was kind of crushed and mentally flailing at what was happening on the beach. That's my second new fandom where the two main characters go from best friends to sworn enemies (the other one being Cirque du Freak, we'll get there) when all they needed to avoid it was some talking and some compromising and I don't care if I sound like an idiot. Nice Wolverine reference, too, and so many scenes in that movie were just so so so awesome (when Charles and Erik meet, the scene where they recruit Angel, the moving the satelite thing and so many others).

I was kind of annoyed by their butchering of the history of the Cuban Missile Crisis (as my brother put it 'So, you're okay that they involved mutants, but not okay with the fact that they got history wrong?') THE RUSSIANS HAD MISSILES IN CUBA BEFORE WE KNEW ABOUT THEM! WE'D HAD MISSILES IN TURKEY FOR A WHILE, IT WAS NOT A NEW DECISION. YES, THERE WERE EMBARGO LINES, BUT IT WAS NOT FOR SHIPS CARRYING THE MISSILES. GAH. And, obviously, there were no mutants involved. Seeing the movie with a fellow history geek also made hating on the history-edits more fun.

Found a few good fics for it so far, though. There is no where near enough Alex/Darwin.

2. Cirque du Freak - Darren/Steve. I'm only on the 3rd book, but the movie alone is what grabbed me on this one. The hating on each other-mortal enemies thing could have been avoided, god damn it! "I did not want to be a vampire, Steve! I never wanted this! You were dying - because of that stupid, stupid, spider - and it was the only way to save you. I had to agree to get the anti-venom to save you." The end. Crisis avoided. Steve knew he was turned at the funeral, but he didn't know why and it was after that he started to go darkside. Gah. Boys. Why?

3. My Babysitter's A Vampire. Okay. I was bored. It was on TV. It was not what I expected. It was actually not horrible for a Disney movie. Ethan and Benny are pretty much Tommy and Merton. Only replace werewolf and goth sidekick with Seer and Spellcaster. Which, yay! Not a useless sidekick! Although, most of the situations they get into are Benny's fault. In the TV series that just started airing, it's usually over girls (also like BWoC), and involves purely ridiculous nonsense (raising pets form the dead who then go all zombified, dressing up as cheerleaders to defeat an evil cheerleader witch (and oh, god, the crossdressing is hilarious! (also, what is it with kid shows lately and boys dressing as girls, Big Time Rush does it all the fucking time!))). There is sadly, no fic at all for this. At least not that I have been able to find. This makes me sad.

4. Suits. I have not seen enough to form much of an opinion for Suits. Harvey/Mike seems obvious (also, why did USA name another main character Michael? Especially on a show that airs RIGHT AFTER Burn Notice???) We shall see.

Also, Big Time Rush is kind of ridiculously awesome.

I was kind of disappointed in both the White Collar and Burn Notice premiers. Leverage was okay, though.

White Collar: Um, sorry, what? Wasn't last season all about how Neal was sick of running. How he wanted to stay in New York and work for the FBI and not RUN. And, boom! New season - what is he doing? Running. Lying to Peter in such extremes is new and annoying, too.

Burn Notice was just kind of a let-down plotwise. It just felt like another episode and not like a premier that really led up to something. And Jesse. While I'm thrilled Jesse is still around - beyond thrilled, actually - even that made no sense. Oi.

Leverage was pretty cool, if also kind of lacking any sort of main string of plot to start off the season. Yay for Parker and Eliot character development. Yay for hugs for Hardison. Is Nate a drunk again? How did I miss this? Yay for no problematic UST for Nate and Sophie(?) (TELL US HER NAME ALREADY, OR DONT TELL US, WHATEVER, WE DONT FUCKING CARE, TNT). Oh, right. There was that whole bug in the loft, thing, I guess as forward momentum. My bad.

Haven't seen X-Men: First Class yet, though I've really been meaning to. It's starting to look like I'm gonna have to wait for DVD. One of the biggest critiques I've heard about it history-wise is that for a movie set in the 60s, it majorly doesn't vibe like it's set in the 60s.

I've read the Darren Shan series and I'll say that by the end everything does make a lot of sense. That said, I hated the movie. Flat-out hated the movie.

Doh, I finished season one of Leverage ages ago now but still haven't caught up. I did start watching How I Met Your Mother recently though, finished up season one a couple of days ago.

Yeah, it is really bad about that. I kind of forgot it was in the 60's (in between the horrible butchering of CMC stuff, anyway) and was only typically reminded that it wasn't because the kids weren't playing on cell phones. They have very advanced tech - I guess the explanation for that is BUT WE'RE THE CIA!

The books are way better than the movie, I will agree. I look forward to an ending that makes sense!

Leverage just started season 4, so you've got a bit of catching up to do, xD

First Class was so sweet. I wanted to hug Erik everytime he made a frowny face. I wanted to hug Charles everytime he looked like a little kid in his grand father's clothes. I wanted to hug them both because you can actually hear the epic inescapable soulmate bond that refused to allow them to leave or hate each other even when they were enemies.

I loved how cocky Alex could be without looking like he was trying. When I see he was rescued from roles in hannah montana movies it's even more amazing.

I read up to about book 6. I think of vampires assistant. I liked it except how he wrote girls irked me. Like in Stormbreaker with the character Sabina Pleasure. What kind of name is that? I think young girls are a mystery to a few male adult writers. The film was okay. I mostly watched it because Josh hutchinson was in it. If you like him and Mystique from first class. They're playing in a film of a book together called the hunger games.

White Collar, I know. I feel like shouting at the screen. Don't ya know we all love that Neal, Peter and Elizabeth are soooo perfect as a family. To hurt it is ruining the show.

When Hardison said. "At least Eliot gave me a hug." I was saying awwwww for at least half the episode. The kids in Leverage are so sweet. Parents as youve said are so annoying. Nate I'm kinda fond of sometimes and always love to see talking to sterling.

Likewise, Erik needed many many many hugs. And so did Charles. And Alex. It took me forever to realize why Charles looked so familiar, and then finally I was like 'Hah! Narnia! Mr. Tumnus!' And I recognized Alex from an episode of House as opposed to Hannah Montana, but yeah, that's definitely awesome for him.

I need to get back into reading teh Cirque books. I got derailed by the Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole series cause I kind of stupidly started reading both at the same time.

It kind of hurts my head t watch White Collar right now (on that note, I physically can't watch General Hospital right now at all without wanting to hunt down the writers and inflict bodily harm) it just doesn't make any sense. Unless he's setting up Mozzie in some seriously, seriously elaborate trap (which I highly doubt), this just sucks.

That hug was awesome, I have to agree. :3 And Nate is awesome. Even Parker is awesome. Sophie's really the only one who ever gets on my nerves.

I didn't actually watch Hannah Montana, just so you know. I just checked out his IMDB history to see what else I could watch him in. I'm going to watch him in house right now.

It must have been a pretty spectacular episode for you to remember him in it. I find house's patients all run together after a while. Was it like Ian Somehalder for me. When I saw him for like a second in one of my mum's films changing hearts pushing some old lady along. He wasn't even famous back then, it was before lost and vampire diaries. I just knew I had to find out who he was because he was swamped with an aura of being cool and being gorgeous. Alex had the same effect on me though not to the same degree. They should have used him more. I wanna know why he was in prison.

He actually wasn't a patient in the House episode, but he's so pretty I couldn't forget him. xD

I'm in love with Edi Gathegi anyway and Lucas Till is purdy so Darwin/Havok all the waaaaaay. And Banshee. Because he's a ginger and I have to support them or something

I left thinking the movie was corny as hell but I did enjoy it quite a lot ^_^

Darwin and Havok are awesome! There is not enough fic for them at all :(

And Banshee is pretty cool, too. Definitely liked him more than the others. I also kind of loved Azazel, even if he was evil. I totally missed that he was from Primeval.

Hi, I just friended you!
While I have yet to actually watch an episode and have only heard the one song they play on our local pop/alt station, Big Time Rush is gonna be doing a free show at one of the local county fairs here in central Cali next month. /sorry, random babbling is random

Ooh, nice! I'm hoping they'll play around where I live at some point. I look forward to seeing them live.

What song do they play on the radio, out of curiosity?

Boyfriend - I'm not usually into the overly-bubblegum boyband stuff, but it's so dang catchy!

Boyfriend is catchy, but it's not one of my favorites. They have some less bubblegum-ish stuff, but it's still pretty boyband.

Also, your icon is awesome.

I LOVED all the slash in X-Men: First Class; it was epic! Although the history thing bothered me as well; but it's an X-Men movie, what do you expect? Also Eric/Charles = ♥; it's like Doctor/Master on a more localized scale.

Cirque Du Freak is AWESOME and Darren/Steve is epic! I started reading these a while back and they are awesome!

I'm not sure what to say about Suits either, it hasn't really grabbed my attention that much yet. (Oh did you see Necessary Roughness? It's pretty good despite being a "sports show").

Yeah, White Collar was a let down. I switched the telly off after the first 30 minutes.

I don't think Nate is drinking again, I think that Timothy Hutton had a cold or something when the episode was recorded. Also TNT tell us Sophie's real name already!!
