So. Classes.

First up I had Animal Learning & Cognition which is kind of seriously awesome. Sounds fun and interesting and yay for no presentations. There's really only one paper for the entire semester (which oh thank god) and some tests (which, boo, multiple choice, but yay, mostly essay based). The prof is cool and laid back and not crazy. Should be relatively easy there. Of course it was fucking pouring when I walked to class. Frostburg weather is so crazy. And I had no idea where the building for that class was. I took a seriously scenic route in locating it. Lesson learned there.

Next up was Gilded Age. A little more daunting, because lots of reading and like 6 papers, but it should still be pretty easy and straightforward. Sadly a good bit of pressure is put on participation - which I usually do to a minimal degree - so I'll have to step up on that. The prof is cool and funny for that one, too, though. So.

The last class I had today was Capstone. Fucking fuck. I hate that class already. The idea is not a hard or terrifying one. One 20-25 page paper. Okay. Whatever. Can totally do that. But the professor is evidently convinced that every single one of us is going to get our paper published and 'So What?' about your topic and 'Why should I care?' And I get that, too, I do. But, when it comes down to it, no matter how interesting or well you can defend your topic, people aren't going to read it unless they a) have to or b) find it interesting. So being able to relate my topic to everything ever is kind of ridiculous. Then again, he thinks my topic is ridiculous because apparently, TONS OF PEOPLE have written books about Harry Houdini in relation to spiritualism. I don't know where these books are evidently hiding because I can't fucking find them. So I need to flesh out a better thesis (which, admittedly, mine wasn't fully sketched out yet, but it wasn't that bad!) before next Thursday. Argh.

My Revolution class I don't have until the 12th because of Labor Day.

Might be going home on the 27th for a concert, otherwise I'll be here until Thanksgiving unless the cousin decides to go home for a weekend or something.

Going well, though. :)

AND I HAVE INTERNET BACK AGAIN! FFFFFYES.

Your capstone professor sounds like a douche. =( Here's hoping the class improves over the semester. Nothing's worse than a big deal, required course that sucks.

Thanks! He's okay in small doses, but a two and a half hour class makes me want to punch him in the face. He just finished defending his dissertation this Spring, so i guess he's still living in Grad School mindset?

Oh Lord. Two and a half hour classes? So glad mine were usually only half that. I always hated my night classes because my attention span was waaaaaaaay too short for three hours.

Animal Learning & Cognition? That sounds awesome!! I wish I was taking something like that -- the closest I've got this semester is Livestock Nutrition (and I'm an Animal Science minor!)
I would totally trade you on weather rn; we've been mid-90s or higher since I moved in 3 weeks ago, and I was not made for the heat or humidity.
